I believe public education is the foundational social enterprise of this great nation. I believe that as public education goes, so goes the United States. Therefore, we have no choice but to make public education succeed, and through succeeding enable the United States to become the world leader in student achievement. I believe all children can learn, but I also recognize that each child is unique, learns in different ways, and responds differently to different teaching strategies. I believe a key role of the education leaders is to create a climate of high expectation – high expectations for teachers, high expectations for students, high expectations for parents, and high expectations for self.

As part of the GLISI team, I bring 39 years of leadership experience from two wonderful careers to our important work of building education leaders. It is my personal mission to enable leaders at all levels to become the best leaders they can be. I will do this by leveraging my expertise in the area of Balanced Performance, bringing school systems in Georgia tools to insure continuously improving high performance of their organizations. An organization that is not continuously growing, learning, and improving is an organization that is doomed to mediocrity.
